Located in the heart of London's premier financial district, Heron Tower stands as the tallest building on London's skyline. Under the guidance of KPF's London office, Illuminating Concepts complemented the sleek modern structure with exterior LED lighting including a 700' high color changing “light ladder” and a mesh of blue LED's that stretch the entire South façade of the 44 story tower. Interior lighting was carefully integrated within the architectural treatments creating a warm glowing atmosphere that can be seen through seamless walls of glass and allowing unencumbered views of the 70,000 liter lobby aquarium. Through careful construction practices and its use of energy efficient systems, the project achieved UK's BREEAM certification (equivalent to LEED in North America).
