Light in a variety of creative applications is an integral driver of the fan experience throughout this 650,000-square foot multi-purpose arena that serves as home to two professional sports teams, the NHL’s Detroit Red Wings and the NBA’s Detroit Pistons.

In the main concourse, a ‘jewel skin’ of faceted aluminum panels wraps the bowl, grazed with vibrant color by optic linear LED fixtures. The jewel skin also can serve as a video projection surface for event footage and advertising.
Over the seating bowl, the tension wire grid ceiling can be custom programmed with colored theatrical show lighting or video for another point of interaction with patrons.
Outside the exposed exterior of the bowl’s jewel skin rims the arena’s façade, illuminated by linear RGBW fixtures that enable a 360° light show that reacts to every goal and home team victory.

RGBW flood lights illuminate a large piazza for outdoor concerts and pre-game entertainment.
